Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

We are trying to buy and redo a 110 year old farmhouse. So, the heater would definitely be great until everything is completed.

We’re dealing with a rental home this year in CA, which sounds great but the cold air comes right through the wall of windows. So while home, we are layering on an extra sweater while watching tv.

Heat me up. We try not to turn on our heater, so we keep warm by drinking hot water and playing Wii for exercise until we’re warm – it works quite well!

I’ve warming up with hot tea in the afternoon/evenings. Makes me feel so much better. Although right now it’s 65 degrees in SC. =)

PS I’ve been looking at these to add some “heat” to my otherwise boring bedroom.

    HEAT ME UP!

We just bought our first house (100+ year old rowhome) in Philadelphia and we are freezing! We are keeping warm painting, patching, sanding, and fighting the ivy that is taking over our back patio! We had a lovely surprise on the first night that temps went well below 32 degrees…our master bedroom is not properly insulated! Honestly, sometimes it feels like we are camping : )

The one big thing we gave up when we decided on the house was the fireplace…so we would be ever so grateful for one of those fantastic electric fireplaces.

Oooooh, very cool! I love those! And not having a fireplace is one of the things I wish we could change about our house. We have one of those fireplace dvds, which is fun, but doesn’t quite do the trick.

Let’s see, we’re staying warm, by wearing sweaters and we also sealed the windows with that plastic “storm window” covering stuff. Really though, our whole insulation and heating system needs an overhaul. Adding it to the list!

    Thanks for the cool giveaway!

So I moved from Michigan to VA 13 years ago and we just had 14 inches of snow at my house last week. What the heck?!
There is no keeping warm in a house that wasn’t built for that kind of weather!
During the “blizzard of 2010”, I went back to my roots and sported flannel jammies, long underwear and those socks that have stickies on the bottom. Hubbie didn’t appreciate the nostalgia but it was fun for a week!
