How excited are we to be giving away a Model One Radio this week? You probably know that our cheery yellow one is one of our favorite things that we’ve bought for our new kitchen (more on that here). Sure it’s been dubbed “the best sounding table radio ever made” by some (MSNBC in this case), but our love for it stems first and foremost from its looks. It’s one good looking radio. But that’s not to say that we don’t crank up the radio (or an iPod playlist thanks to the auxiliary input in the back) and enjoy a family dance party every now and then…

I listen to the radio for morning news and then music during the day. Always reminds me of hearing my daddy getting ready for work in the mornings listening to his little transistor radio. I love to use the radio on my way to and from work to listen to NPR and catch up on the local news as well as news from around the world…keeps me connected! also any time I’m doing a house project (cleaning, yard work, diy) there is music blasting through the house to keep me going, this would be perfect! My husband and I have our favorite playlists that we would listen to while cooking, grilling, hanging out and such. However, now that our son is 3 and has preferences and opinions we are subjected to listening to his favorite…Top 40. The more techno/clubby the better. It was a sad moment for me when I was singing and jamming to a classic Janis Joplin song and my son said, “Mom, turn that down. That’s not good.”.
