How excited are we to be giving away a Model One Radio this week? You probably know that our cheery yellow one is one of our favorite things that we’ve bought for our new kitchen (more on that here). Sure it’s been dubbed “the best sounding table radio ever made” by some (MSNBC in this case), but our love for it stems first and foremost from its looks. It’s one good looking radio. But that’s not to say that we don’t crank up the radio (or an iPod playlist thanks to the auxiliary input in the back) and enjoy a family dance party every now and then…

Radio Me… Every evening before I start cooking, I turn the radio on, usually listening to Norah Jones or Bonnie Raitt and pour a glass of wine. By the time my glass of wine is done, so is dinner.

Radio me!! I love stations like KCRW in LA and WFUV out of Fordham U in the Bronx, they play a mix and also broadcast some NPR segments. I would totally rock that little green one in my green and yellow kitchen!

Radio Me! We use our radio a lot while cooking. But also, my boyfriend and I have instituted dancing to at least one full song a day to blow off steam. It’s surprising how good that three or four minutes of the day can make you feel!

Radio me! We have satellite radio in the car and it is a lifesaver on long trips. NPR or one of the indie stations is always on! At home, I’ll usually put on a playlist when I’m making dinner, baking – anything in the kitchen, really.

Radio me! these days, I’d be tuned into an AM station listening for severe weather warnings – we were up until the wee hours of the night on Saturday watching the tornadoes eek closer and closer to us. We were grateful that the worst of the storms fell apart before they reached us, but feeling for the areas of the midwest that were hit hardest. A pretty looking radio would be getting some good use in our little house without a basement!
