Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.

PILOT ME! I am required to write in black ink for my job, but I always have sticky notes for quick reminders for a patient or Dr. If something is a long term list item that I need to do, then I put it in the COZI app on my phone.

    PILOT ME!

I am all about doubling up on notes- if I get an emailed invitation, I write it in my day planner and save the date electronically. You may think that is over-doing it, but if I don’t write things down, they are forgotten immediately.

I love a good pen. And I do mean love.

    PILOT ME!

I keep a little notebook in my purse that I refer to as my “Handy Dandy Notebook”, thanks to too episodes of Blue’s Clues while babysitting. I do write down more than just clues – grocery lists, gift ideas, prices that I want to compare, measurements. I have a smartphone, and I always schedule appointments there immediately, but for everything else, I feel like physically writing them down actually gets them to my brain.

Paper is not something I come by often when I need to jot down a note. My hand becomes my paper. Yes, I do have a pilot pen with me at all times. I actually got a nickname because I steal pens on accident no matter where I go. I really have to be conscious of it now.

“PILOT ME!” They always talk about people swiping office supplies from their work. I actually bring my own, because I am so particular about my writing tools. LOVE my lists – brainstorming and list making need a real wood pencil with eraser. Note taking during meetings and other writing need a good feeling dark black pen. Even with a smart phone I still keep a pocket calendar and my friends and family know if it’s not on that calendar it’s not getting done.

    PILOT ME!!!!!

I am a speech pathologist in a preschool, so I have to use blue pens for official paperwork to differentiate from a copy. So I always have a ton of blue pens lying around. I wear my hair in a bun or ponytail and will stic love my pen in my hair to always have it handy. I am sure I am a sight walking down the hallway with several pens stuck in my hair.

Pilot me!! I can never be without my fine tip RSVP black ink pens. I cringe when I have to use something else! I’m also never without a pad of sticky notes. I have baskets full of them on various surfaces at home and at my office. The crazier the better! I have some shaped like ballet slippers, flip flops, dresses, pumpkins, beach balls, t-shirts….
I also love digital note-taking. I use Evernote and when I use up my monthly data usage on the free version of the app, I switch to Simplenote.
What can I say? I have a lot to get out of my head I guess!
