Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.

As a landscape architect that does most of my work freehand, I LOVE and appreciate a good pen! One with a nice wide tip that writes smoothly.
I have always been a paper note girl. But, I am a recent convert to one spiral notebook for all of my personal and work to do lists and notes. I have found that now all my information is in one place!

While it is so much easier to keep track of a to-do list or grocery list on my phone, I seem to be better motivated by the good old fashioned written-by-pen-and-paper to do list! Love the feeling of crossing something off the list!

I have several pads of paper that I’ve collected from different venues–a community events, professional events, etc. They each have their own promotional logos or language on them, but they are perfect for jotting down a grocery list, writing a note to my son, or just marking my place in a book.

Pilot me! I usually write on my (paper) calendar in pencil so I can erase if something changes, but I like to make lists in pen–for some reason, it’s more satisfying to cross something off a list in pen. :) I also still stick with the paper calendar–I tried using my phone, but I really like having it in black and white in front of me.

Ironically my favorite pens are the Pilot ones, especially the turquoise and purple. My office doesn’t supply those, so I purchase them on my own for use taking notes at meetings and updating paperwork. I love love love pens and pencils and markers, i’m pretty sure its a sickness actually. I carry 2-3 pens in my purse at all times, you just never know when you’ll need one. I try to use my phone for a grocery list, but I always seem to end up writing things down on post-its (also another obsession of mine…..you should seriously see my desk and computer…..covered!)

As a small business owner, I spend my free time on the elliptical with my iPad in front of me. When new ideas come to me (and they always do when I’m exercising!) I open up my Notability App and either write them with my finger or use the audio function to squawk them…I wonder why I always sound so breathy?!

    PILOT ME!

As an artist, I find inspiration everywhere and sometimes I’ll see something or someone will say something that triggers an idea in my head and I know I have to document it in some way immediately or I’ll forget. I’ve taken notes on receipts, my hand…one time in the car I laid my ipad on the passenger seat taking a video of the roof of the car while I talked for 10 minutes about my idea. Once again in the car I called the house and left a long message on our answering machine! I have a journal by the bed for nighttime inspo too. I always seem to get great ideas just as I’m fading off to sleep. So, I guess the answer is I like to take notes in every way possible! I do love sharpies and any pen that has a super smooth flow to it. Oh and I hate writing directly on a table…I like to have a few pieces of paper underneath to aid in the smoothness.

Wow, that was a long answer and likely more info than you wanted….sorry! :)
