Fab Freebie: Tile Shop ‘Til Your Drop

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Random.org had quite the task of sifting through so many entries this week, but it has randomly selected our winner as… Kelley (who has so many ideas for how to use the gift card, including a fireplace surround, kitchen backsplash or master bath floor). Congrats!

Ready for this? It’s not only one of our biggest giveaways EVER, but it’s also a giant excuse-buster when it comes to that tile project that you’ve been putting off. This week The Tile Shop is giving one of you a whopping $1,500 prize. In case you think your eyes are playing tricks on you, allow me to demonstrate that they’re not:

TileShop Giveaway 1500

That’s enough spending money to snag over $1,000 worth of tile and still have enough to get all of the installation tools you might need to DIY the job. The Tile Shop has even put together a little shopping list for you – it includes buckets, a wet saw, a notched trowel, a margin trowel, a rubber float, a mixer bar, tile nippers, knee pads, rubber spacers, flexible grout admixture, grout, a sealer kit, caulk and thinset. Wow, that was a mouthful. But at least it’ll be a free mouthful for one of you!

TileShop Giveaway Board

  • PRIZE: $1500 (!!!) to spend at The Tile Shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “TILE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what could use some fresh tile in your house? Wanna finally add that backsplash to your kitchen? Or is your shower begging for a new surround? Maybe your mudroom could use a prettier floor or your fireplace could stand to be updated?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 14th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: Save 10% with code YHL10
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of The Tile Shop.

What couldn’t use some fresh tile in our house? From replacing the linoleum backsplash in our kitchen to the shower needing a new surround and the 80s fireplace that needs to be updated?

TILE ME! Our master shower needs it! It has white 1970’s tile which has been getting darker over the 5 years we have been here. I know there must be a water problem behind there that will require $$ so we have been putting it off. Hopefully we will win so we can finally open that can of worms!

My condo could use a backsplash (it doesn’t have one at all), but my parent’s new place needs an entire tile redo in their bathroom, so I’d probably contribute this giveaway to them.

So glad you guys had such a great time in Portland! Sad I went to the show the day you weren’t there.

    TILE ME!

This past spring a faulty turn off switch in our washing machine caused a foot of water to fill our basement. We said goodbye to the carpet we had (obviosuly) and have been in basement limbo ever sence. We are hoping to start tiling soon but have not been satisfied with anything we have found in our budget. Winning this would be SO INSANE (and you would get some pretty rad before and after pics for the blog as well)

Tile me…You two – Yes, John & Sherry, have inspired us. I close on my own ‘This Young House’ next week! You are proof to myself and my handy man that we too can conquer home renovation 101 and we’re taking the plunge next week. Goodbye renting, hello homeownership. I’m not even sure where to start on my list of possible tile projects…Maybe the dining room floor that is sporting some hammer holes (nice touch) or how about the kitchen that’s (cross your fingers) going to be renovated? Or even in the partially finished half bath? I would LOVE to catch a financial break somewhere in this madness of purchasing a foreclosure. Thanks for the opportunity!

We are in the process of buying our first house, which will need all of the above! The only room that’s been updated since 1986 is the hall bath, and it was even a bad DIY job, so it’ll have to get ripped out…this would definitely start us off right!

I think I would have to say our master…it’s so small. We want to tear out the tub/shower combo and have a nice walk in shower to make the most of our space. $1500 would go so far for us…maybe more than one project? Hmmmm…careful planning…
