Raise your hand if you know what a bathymetric chart is. I didn’t before this giveaway, but it’s basically like a topographic map for what lies underwater. But the more important thing to know is that the married duo behind Below the Boat turns these charts into gorgeous, laser-cut, hand-assembled works of art. They’re beautifully intricate and fascinatingly detailed. And they’ve got lots of bodies of water from the east coast, west coast, and even some lakes in between.     BOAT ME!

    I’d do a quiet small ship cruise with someone I cared about. The type you see in those movies, with a small staff lol

    On another note… I saw some of Below the Boat’s work at this awesome map shop in Seattle – it’s even more amazing in person! I took pictures, but they weren’t sure if they could make anything more local to my home in NY. :)

    We are a kayaking family around here. Though I have grown up on the beach, I am terrified of the ocean and my kayak stays in the creeks. :)

    my dream would be to live closer to my dad so that i could help him refinish his old sail boat he purchased a year ago! then, of course, we’d go on some sailing adventures in southern virginia!

    BOAT ME! I’m slightly terrified of large bodies of water, so the only boat I’m comfortable on is a cruise ship (because the ride is smooth enough that you forget you’re at sea).

    BOAT ME! I would venture out on the pacific in a yacht. Or take a cruise to the carribean. Or chill on a pontoon on a lake somewhere. I just love being on the water!

    BOAT ME! While I’d love to do a luxury cruise, I want to relearn how to sail! I learned when I was 13 and didn’t keep up with it… one of my very few regrets!
