Raise your hand if you know what a bathymetric chart is. I didn’t before this giveaway, but it’s basically like a topographic map for what lies underwater. But the more important thing to know is that the married duo behind Below the Boat turns these charts into gorgeous, laser-cut, hand-assembled works of art. They’re beautifully intricate and fascinatingly detailed. And they’ve got lots of bodies of water from the east coast, west coast, and even some lakes in between.     For me, the bigger the boat, the better due to my sensitivity to the motion of the ocean. Give me a cruise ship!

    A huge catamaran is the way to go.. not a small 14 footer, but one of those large ones with cabins in the hulls.

    Boat Me!! I hear there are some caves in the Channel Islands of California you can kayak through– would love to try that sometime. Maybe if I had a handy bathymetric chart…. :)

    BOAT ME!
    I’d go simply for a fishing or crabbing trip on my grandfather’s boat, but I also enjoy paddling around in kayaks too. One day I’d like to take a cruise, but I bet I’d rather simply be closer to the water itself.

    Boat me! We live near the Newport Bay and there are Electric Duffy boats that you can take out and around the harbor. Perfect for slow weekend afternoon and evening wine cruising!

    I am a lake person – on a tube, pontoon, canoe, kayak, rowboat, paddle boat – if it goes on a lake I am in it. :)

    my dream boat trip would consist of me and my fiance traveling on a catamaran.. him sailing and me sunbathing on those net things! ahh
