In 2007, I graduated from college (George mason university), moved to Athens Ga to be close to my family and long distance boyfriend of 2.5 years! Luckily everything worked out there, we moved to NYC together where we both got masters degrees and had the best 3 years ever! Last summer, we got married at the summer camp we met at in GA, and in June, we packed the uhaul and left NYC, and are living back down south in Columia, S.C!

In 2007, my husband left the Active duty Army world and we moved from our duty station in Hawaii back to the east coast (during the winter no less), bought our first house, and started grad school. Now we are back in the military world, with our Masters degrees in hand, but all on our own terms so that we can stay put for the long haul :)

WEST ME! A lot has changed since 2007. My father passed away, and my boyfriend’s father passed away. We’ve since gotten married and sometimes it’s tough for us to get those DIY projects done without our fathers here! But we both love this blog and it is really boosting our confidence in taking on those projects!

In 2007 we embarked on a major house overhaul. Other than the external walls, everything was gutted. Not kidding, we literally raised the roof and poured new basement floors. We saved up a lot of money and paid for things as we could afford them which meant 9 months without a working kitchen, 3 months without a shower, and several weeks without a toilet. Today, we’re still chiseling away at the to-do list, but happily have a working bathroom and kitchen! It’s been an adventure!
