***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***
It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…
- PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

4 years ago I was preparing for my boyfriend to move in, we had plans to get married, have kids and live happily ever after and a year later he did all that with someone else! Now present, I have 1 more tattoo, 1 more dog, long brown hair instead of short blonde and the decor is still more “his” taste. Depressing I know! Help me! :) I mean WEST ME!

4 years ago, my husband was getting laid off from his job – we subsequently lost our house, and went back to college. i’m about to graduate with my bachelors and head to grad school, and our daughter is headed to kindergarten. we lost everything – house, cars, credit cards, credit score, and gained the knowledge that we can make it through just about anything, as long we’re together as a family. cliche for sure, but still truth we learned painfully.

WEST ME! (Awesome! I was just snooping around the West Elm web site!)
In four years, I have finished my masters, had several jobs, found “the one” and gotten married, found “the other one” (our house) and are still working on it, and have rescued our 3 cats. Wow. I wonder what the NEXT 4 will bring! ;-) Thanks for helping me to reflect!
Lauren says
West me! Why? Because I have a new apartment with my “new” fiance (we were dating in 2007 – go us!) that seriously needs to be decorated. I’m also in a new job with a new cat. Life is pretty good, but this would make it even better ;)

West Me!!!!
Let’s see…since 2007 I’ve married my high school sweetheart, quit my job to go back to grad school full time, moved from a city to a tiny country town, and….finally got that puppy I’ve been begging the hubs for since we moved into together in 2003. Here’s hoping the next four years are just as good to me :-).
David says
WEST ME, please! My life is different because I live in a 1915 house that needs a lot of work, and I was so overwhelmed that for a long time I didn’t think I could do anything without hiring a contractor and having professionals start from the ground up, which I couldn’t afford.
But a couple of years ago, I finally got the clarity just to start one project at a time, ignoring everything else while I work on that one thing.
Now the kitchen floor is done, the kitchen countertop is in progress, and my skills improve with every project.

2007 was the beginning of our homeschooling journey. We pulled our 5th grader out of public school beginning in fall and our 2nd grader out after Christmas that year. Now I homeschool all 3 kids and our oldest is currently in 9th grade! Good times.
