It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Four years ago, I would say my priorities were a lot different. Graduating high school and all I could think about was the excitement of going off to a new place, and meeting new friends. Currently, I am in my last semester of undergrad and have many different priorities and stresses. I am so excited for these years of life to come… Landing a career, buying my own house, starting a family. I love reading YHL and thinking of what I can do in these next years to come. You guys are such an inspiration. Keep up the inspiring words, post, pictures, etc!!!

WEST ME! My husband and I just moved to California from Washington, DC, and we could definitely use this shopping spree. I love West Elm, and miss being close enough to a store that I could just pop in on my daily walk home from work. In 2007 I graduated from college, so a lot has changed. I’m now starting graduate school, am living on the opposite side of the country, am married and have found passions for both home decor and quilting.

I was an international student stepping foot in the States for the first time in my life. Since then, I’ve gone on to make friends with amazing people (one of whom died after a long struggle with cancer), I’ve gotten married to the most amazing man ever and we just bought a house this year!

In 2007, I was a 24 year old in love with her boyfriend of 6 years. I was wondering when and if he was ever going to propose and if we were going to live in our dumpy apartment forever. 4 years later, we had our dream wedding on a beach in NC in March and bought our first house in 2010. I should have known that it would come in good time. They do say good things come to those who wait, right? So now I sit and wait to see if I win this awesome prize! :)

Since 2007, I moved to a new state with my now-husband, have held 2 different jobs, got married in October 2010, and my mother passed away in February just before my husband and I bought our first house in May this year. I know if she could see it she’d be so proud, even though it’s half-empty. :) We have added her dog to our family, and we’re now trying for our first baby, so bring on the rest of 2011 and 2012!
