Fab Freebie: West In Show

***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***

It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

West Elm Moodboard

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…

West Elm Blog

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

West Me, please! In 2007, I was a brand-new attorney and brand new wife…”mom” to one Jack Russell terrier…and a renter of a very old house. In 2011, I’m a slightly more seasoned attorney and wife…mom to two Jack Russells…and an owner of a home we had built from the ground up last year.

    Happy blogiversary! Congrats!

    West Me!!

In 2007 I moved to RICHMOND, VA in the Oregon Hill neighborhood. In 2008 my apartment (along with 8 other people) burned down. I lost every thing, my roommate lost his German Shepherd and the media taped us all – at our worst watching it all happen. Richmond, VA pulled together and held numerous fund-raisers to help all of us get back on our feet.

I moved back to Oklahoma to help care for my family in January of this year. But Richmond, VA will always have my heart for having mine and my neighbors back through such a rough time.

I’ve now bought my first house with my boyfriend and I use your blog for much inspiration on our tiny fixer upper. Thank you!

My wife and I were married four years ago, have moved…let’s see….4 times, suffered through the death of her mother and our son, and have gone on to have a beautiful little girl, coincidentally named CLARA! Oh, and we both started our careers in the meantime. So, really, what isn’t different?

Life is so different than it was in 2007! I was attending college in a different city, living in a house full of girls and trying to choose a major. Now I live in a much larger city, attending nursing school (my second degree, I guess I chose wrong) and living with my amazing boyfriend and our lovely little dog. He is in pharmacy school and I LOVE creating our story!

What has changed in 4 years? The biggest difference in my life is that I quit my day job 2 years ago to be a full-time blogger. Love it.

Life has changed a LOT since 2007. I was dating a sweet man with lots of potential ;-), in a pretty dead end job, living in Atlanta. Now I’m married to that sweet man, recently started my own photography business (while still working full time), and live in Charleston, SC! I’d like to think I love change, and in the end I’m usually glad where it takes me… but actually am not a big fan of the process. I’m just glad I am where I am today!

WEST ME! I love that store. In 2007, I was a newlywed living in our first house in Charlotte. Little did we know that despite all our upgrades the house would be flooded a year later and purchased by the city for demolition. Alas, it all worked out in the end and we are in a great neighborhood now with our 3 year old and one on the way. Life sure changes VERY quickly.
