It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Now, I’m living in a great studio in a hip neighborhood in DC, I have a great dog, friends, and a boyfriend, and I get to write for a living (training materials, but it’s a start.)

In 2007 I was still working as a programmer but because of unfortunate circumstances (which now seem like blessings) I am working from home, continuing to progress in my cake decorating and just started a blog. My life is pretty much the same as it was in 2007. ^^ Still have one child, and though we’ve lived everywhere from in my parents’ basement to a different state, we’re back in the same house and DH is losing a job again. :( It feels entirely too much the same! But other than the job, I can’t complain. We have a cozy little home, my child is happy at school, there’s food on the table, yada yada.
