It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). What’s different between now and 2007? My then-boyfriend is now my husband, and our fluffy malamute puppy is now a big, furry man-pup. Also, we bought our first house in 2007, and sold it in 2010 to move into a bigger place . . . hence the need for some great West Elm decor!

WEST ME!! Wow in 2007 we were living at the same address just 1500 sq feet less! This past year we did a big renovation/remodel project and added a second floor and updated the downstairs a bit! Oh goodness, in 2007 I was studying abroad in Scotland about to meet my first love (irish, red-headed rugby player – such a dream boat!). While I was sure that my heart would be broken forever when I left I have found an American red-head that makes me laugh even harder and am about to finish up grad school!

sheesh, in the past four years, just about everything in my life has changed. i have since: studied abroad (three different places), graduated from college, moved across the country, met my amazing boyfriend, got a fantastic little (well, not so little anymore) dog, moved two more times (still within DC), and started a new job. i *love* where my life is now and would love things even more with $500 of goodies from west elm! it’s one of my all-time favorite stores (i actually just bought that tray in the top row to keep all my hairties/pins somewhat neat!).

In 2007 I met my now husband. I also got a tattoo.
In 2008 I got a new job. I also bought a house.
In 2009 I started my own photography business in addition to my new job!
And? Since then I have had at least three different hair colors and at least five different “hairdos.” :)

Since 2007 I graduated with my BFA, have lived in 4 different apartments, 2 different states, worked 3 different full time jobs + about 25 freelance/ contract jobs, and now finally am settled back in at home= Chicago, in a great loft space where I can work from home ( product design) and pursue my passions ( cooking, blogging, painting, DIYing) and I have a full time gig, a great boyfriend ( 7 years <3), and 2 wonderful kitties!
