It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). In 2007 I was living in on my own for the first time in NYC, no roommates in tow, in a TEENY TINY apt on the Upper West Side. I had my first real taste of freedom. Didn’t last long though, I headed back to NJ the next year to move into an apt with my boyfriend. And the rest is history!

Let’s see, my life in 2007 was full of changes: moved from DC to Atlanta, moved in with my boyfriend, changed jobs, got a new car.

So much has changed in my life since 2007. I started a wedding blog which led to becoming a bona fide blogger (and some amazing new friends I met through blogging), I married my best friend, and started a business! In 2007 my hubby and I were adjusting to the realization that life really could get more crazy. Having two kids does require more creative thinking on how to keep your house looking lovely and organized and even more so on how to communicate with your spouse for more than 5 minutes before you both pass out on your pillows.
In 2011, we now know that our home may never look perfect and we may forget to kiss goodybe as we dash out the door at times, but that our perfection lies in the life we have created together and the craziness that ensues. Cheers to chaos and creativity!
