Fab Freebie: West In Show

***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***

It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

West Elm Moodboard

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…

West Elm Blog

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

    WEST ME!

    Four years ago I had been dating my husband for a year. We had just gotten our first puppy together, Ruby, who is still our first baby. Now we have another pup, Jackson, and are pregnant with a real baby!

    By the way, I just finished my registry (well everything I could finish before we find out the sex) and I followed your cloth diaper advice to a T. Thanks so much!!

    WEST ME!

    Let’s see, in 2007 I was a single grad student living in an apartment with two roommates. Now I’m married for a year and a half, living with my husband in our fabulous and sometimes frustrating fixer-upper. And best of all, I’m no longer a grad student.

    Four years ago I was starting my sophomore year of college, had long hair, and was dating a great guy. Four years later, I’m in my last semester of grad school at the same university (go hokies!), have short hair, and have been married for a little over a month… to the same great guy :)

Between now and then I’ve moved to St. Louis, moved twice, bought a house, started a business, been laid off and found work again, met and married my husband, and made a baby, due to make an appearance in February :) No big deal, all in (five years) work ;)

    I was pregnant with #4 for most of 2007. When he was born on December 31st, I had a newborn, 2 year old, 3 year old and 8 year old. Now, the little one is almost 4 and in preschool. The older 3 are all in elementary school and I now have time 3 days a week where all the kids are in school and I can get things done by myself. That is a huge change from 2007.

    Since 2007:
    Our family expanded to include our son-in-law, John;
    I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer;
    The company I worked for merged with another, and I retired this summer

    I’m sure there’s been more, but these were certainly highlights!

    ok first of all i thought i was seeing things. a west elm give away?!!! be still my WE addicted heart. I actually keep a WE catalogue by my bed side as i dream of decorating our new home and i can always find inspiration there. It is so bad that my husband recently asked me to visit the library for some “deeper” reading. while my bank account may not be able to support my shopping cart full of goodies i can’t help but dream and wish and sigh.

    let’s see..how has my life changed since 2007?? to keep this short i will list the highlights: new puppy, another new puppy, daughter about to head to college and break my heart, new job, promotion, but the big news is the purchase of my first home with the man i was married to, then divorced for ten years, now back together and happier than ever. that is it in a nutshell!!

    WEST ME!

    In 2007, my boyfriend and I had just moved back to Napa, CA from our brief stint in West Palm Beach, Florida. I hated our apartment, and it wasn’t until I purchased a 5-for-1 lamp set at Ikea that I realized it was because we didn’t have any light!! It was my first foray into this whole decorating world, and an invaluable lesson to learn. Four years later we have a 20-month-old, and an offer in on our first house. Still unmarried, but happier than ever!

    Lost my job, got a divorce, moved to a new state 11 hours away from everything and everyone I knew.

    Fell in love, inherited a family, started a business :)

    Now I’m looking for my first home and would love to fill it with awesome swag from West Elm!
