It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). WEST ME!!!!!! Wow, 4 years ago I was planning a wedding, then months latter I was getting a divorce. But I did finish my B.F.A that year so it was a good and bad year:) now I am in a great relationship, expecting our first child in December and loving life.

“west me” Congrats 2 u guys on ur 4 yrs. Well like u guys lifes crazy different since 07. I have 2 gorgeous healthy girls ages 2yrs n 5 months:) I have the best job life can offer which is stay at home mommy :) my hubby got promoted in his job :) We live in a bigger house :) The hubs n me succesfully quit smoking :) I am still about 20 lbs pre pregnancy bummer :( But I have lost 20lbs so thats good:) I am very giddy about life right know, it’s not everybodys cup of tea but it works for us we r very happy about life always room for improvement though. Oh and in 07 I had no idea what a blog was n wasnt much interested in home decor and today I find myself addicted to decorating my home and love bn cheap and sheek n I totally love diy, we have done so many things for the home n it looks amazing and makes us super happy to know that we did all the work ourselves n we love our home. N I’m completly in love with u guys n ur blog I cant go a day with out checking in to ur site. Keep up all of the amazing home renos. Thank u guys.

Four years ago, specifically September 2007, I was in my senior year of undergrad, three months away from going to the south of France to finish my last semester in Bordeaux. Today, I’m about 250 miles south of where I went to undergrad, in my second year of law school. Different yes, but still somewhat the same — perpetual academia.
