My luckiest home improvement moment was when we had to get our beloved first house ready to sell due to a quick employment change, and my husband walked the first potential owners through the house and they made an offer immediately! 4 days on the market!

I got my house on the best/luckiest deal ever!! It was on a foreclosure auction, and it was my dream one…and I was outbid :(
Then the auction guy runs over to us and says they didn’t realize what they bid and I win! $50 a square foot, brand spanking new! Dream come true for me and my son!
Now working on the decorating…$500 would go a LONG WAY!!!

We just moved into a new place and had a dining room but no dining room table. A good friend of mine also moved into a new place with a dining table but no dining room. We now have a fully furnished dining room that didn’t cost us a penny (until she moves again anyway!)

My lucky home moment was a long shot. My husband and I were selling our condo and looking for a townhouse. There was nothing on the market that suited us (space and price) and we had to be out of our condo in 6 weeks. We dropped fliers in our targetted complex hoping to find someone who wanted to sell, but hadn’t listed yet. We got a call two days later and ended up doing a private sale and saved tens of thousands ( the unit next door sold for $40,000 more within the next few months) and we got possession on the day we had to leave our condo! We love our new spacious home and when we replaced the fridge last month, two magnets fell out from behind… a J and S. My husbands initials. They are on our fridge right now. Luck? Or just meant to be?

My luckiest house moment was NOT having our offer accepted on my dream fixer-upper right before the economy tanked. We would have been up to our ears in renovation debts, and living with a halted renovation for a whileee. I’ll pick stress-free life in our modest ranch than struggling in a stripped-to-the-studs manse any day of the week!

My luckiest moment was just last week :-) I scored a Drexel antique, solid mahogany dresser for FREE! As the guy was helping us load it he joked that if we decided we hated it later, we could always sell it because it’s probably worth something. No joke. It’s worth $1000.

Planning to redo my kitchen this year. Luckiest thing that happened was finding the repin that Sherry had made of the lime green kitchen, black counter tops, white cabinets. I had struggled and struggled over what I wanted. When I saw that kitchen, I KNEW that was what I wanted to do with my kitchen!!
    Now to get it done!

BONUS QUESTION: I’d have to think about luckiest EVER but luckiest this weekend was when I was at World Market and decided to check out their roman shades. The one I wanted didn’t have a price and was the only one left. The rest were $49 so I assumed this one was too…but when I asked?? The one I wanted was only $9! I wasn’t sure if it would fit but couldn’t pass up the deal. I brought it home and it’s the perfect size. Feeling lucky!

Our luckiest moments was finding our perfect house- only because the house we originally wanted (that we THOUGHT was perfect for us) was snatched up right before we could put an offer. Not only do we LOVE this house much more, but we have the best neighbors who are seriously like family to us. We feel lucky to have this home!

JOSS ME. While I wouldn’t call it our dream house, hubby and I were super blessed to hit the jackpot on the first house we ever looked at. At age 22, our relator said “I can’t let you buy the first house you see,” but we so did and it was a great starter home!

joss me!! my luckiest moment was when the hubby and I put in an offer on a house that we “liked” but mostly were exhausted from house shopping, then the same day found our current house and completely fell in love with it! what’s ironic is when we first started dating we used to go down to the lake right down the street from where we bought the house. i think fate had something to do with it?!

My luckiest home improvement? Hmmm…I’m not sure it could really be counted as an IMPROVEMENT, per se, but I was pretty stoked to find a ginormous cat tree in the dumpster once. Yes, I actually dragged it out of the dumpster. It’s not necessarily an eyesore, but it’s certainly not adding anything to the decor.

My lucky moment came when looking for a coffee table for my living room. I actually still rent, but living in an apartment comes with it’s own set of challenges! The biggest one (which many have in houses as well) is storage! During my furniture search I scored an awesome coffee table from West Elm that slides open to reveal a great space for storing pillows and blankets I use for my sleeper sofa!
