Hmmm… it would be a toss-up (joss-up?) between the $80 forest green velvet chaise I found on Craigslist (and they delivered it!) and getting into a fantastic housing co-op in Vancouver when I was 7.5 months pregnant with our small fry :)

My luckiest home moment was this month!! My husband has wanted this leather recliner from World Market for the past 5 years. I’ve kept my eye on it, waiting for it to go on sale, but I always managed to miss the coupons or the sales…..until this month!! I noticed it online, but it was sold out. I went ahead and ordered it anyway, even though it was backordered. The store wasn’t offering the promo price, so I just had to wait. Finally, on a fluke, I checked in at the brick and mortar store again, where it was finally on sale!!! And they had ONE left!! The floor model! They would give me an extra 15% off on top of the already 40% discount. I went to pay for it and pick it up…only to discover they were actually disco’ing the chair altogether, so I got the last chair in our area!! If I’d waited for my backordered chair, I never would have gotten it (they didn’t have any more!)!! And all in time for his birthday!

Grandparents gave me their kitchen table which was in mint shape cuz they always used a table cloth. Well made piece of furniture that is over 50 years old but looks modern with a mix of vintage. Love it.

My luckiest moment was taking a gamble on a prefab Ikea shelving unit for a weird space (aka creepy nook) inside my master bathroom. $150 bucks and a couple hours later, and it was perfect! less than an inch of space to spare on either side. Looks like a custom made piece. Soooo lucky.

My luckiest moment came when I found the EXACT SAME bedroom set I had been saving for from a high-end retailer for WAY LESS on craigslist. When I went to check it out, turned out the people had great taste and lots more to sell…long story short, I furnished nearly my entire home and had lots of moolah to spare! (gotta love it!)
