I wanted some really cute apple green chairs for my office but they were $50 for a pair and I didn’t want to spend that much on my office. I went in the next week and since they were the last ones and on sale, I got them for $10 for the pair!!

Luckiest – Jossiest – moment would be finding my favorite chair that was being sold by a photographer because they were going out of business! A vintage hot pink slipper chair for $25! Love it!

One of my luckiest things was seeing an antique rocker in the back of this junk store. The rocker had fallen off the truck when moving and was busted up pretty bad. A closer look revealed that the rocker was a match to my grandmother’s antique living room set. When I asked the people who had it how much it was…they gave it to me for free! Score!

I scored some luck after complaining about how to hang pics down my blah hallway, my boyfriend got a FREE gallery track system that he was getting paid to remove and toss out! It looks great and I can adjust it anytime I add a new picture. Did I mention it was FREE!

JOSS ME! My luckiest home moment so far was when my husband and I found the original blue prints for our home in a closet. The house was built in 1956, so the blue prints are the old timey kind that are actually blue. So neat! We’re planning to frame them and hang them up somewhere.

Joss me! My luckiest moment — I was totally obsessed with this furniture piece owned by my husband’s grandmother — it looks like a buffet but pulls out to a dining room table that seats 10+ and all of the leaves store within the buffet. I have never once seen one for sale. anywhere. One day, I stumbled upon a similar one on craigslist for $75 and I think my jaw dropped open. I emailed my husband telling him I had to have it. He said “get in the car.” I thought he was joking (because we were on a pretty tight budget) but he was just as serious as I was about scoring this coveted piece of furniture! We ended up driving nearly thrity minutes into the backwoods, fearing it was some sort of craigslist killer scam — but we stayed focused. The lady who sold it to us was super sweet – but I knew we shouldn’t have asked what the “cages” in her back yard were for…she casually explained that she raises jaguars for a living. Seriously?!? We quickly handed her the money and went on our merry way! Now we have a sweet piece of furniture and a sweet story to go along with it.

Well, our home projects usually feel like bad luck. However, during my recent kitchen revamp, I found two pieces of very affordable wall art in the exact color palette I wanted, in the exact size/shape I wanted for my wall spaces.

And if that wasn’t lucky enough – my husband actually liked them, too. Phew!

“JOSS ME!” I always thought it was pretty ironic/lucky that we viewed our current home for the first time on Valentine’s Day and the street name is Lovett Circle (pronounced ‘Love it”). Kind of corny but we said we love it on Lovett on Valentine’s Day.

Joss me! Luckiest house moment was when we found our current house for sale by owner. We were also selling our townhouse ourselves but when I saw our house we wanted I thought there was no way we could afford to buy it. We did a quick drive by and I called from the corner, just to check on the asking price. Low and behold it was in our price range and we asked for look see and gave an offer on the spot. End of story!

We lucked out when we finally sold our previous home after over a year (seriously – it was practically a miracle that it sold and we tell our realtor that we love him every time we see him) and were able to buy a great house that had sat on the market for months and the price had been significantly lowered.

We stumbled upon our dream house (and first house!) the first day it went on the market, AND it was a foreclosure! It was a ridiculously good find, we would never have been able to afford it at market value, and we somehow lucked out with the perfect house to start as newlyweds!

When we started looking for our first house, we saw one that was out of our price range by $30k… we loved it but never thought to make an offer…so 2 days went by and our realtor received a call from that owner, they wanted to know if we would make an offer for the house..so we said sure but really low balled it..they were not very happy but after negotiating because of the house needing a new roof, boiler, patio, windows, new kitchen and bath.. they took our offer. We have been there almost 4 years now and every year we have been doing 1 major home improvement and a ton of little things..So gratful for getting the house but still a ways to go to get it where we would like it to be
