JOSS ME! Got an adorable accent chair at Fred Meyer for %40 off the clearance price coming to a total of $60 and spotted the EXACT same chair weeks later at World Market for over $200… it was one of the best retail moments of my life!

Hoping for a lucky house moment next spring when we (hopefully!) will be buying a house! Right now we’re working on getting real furniture instead of ikea nonsense so we can fill up said house once we get it.

    JOSS ME!!! (please)

Most recent lucky break was stumbling upon our apartment on the first day of our search, moments after the price had dropped and just when the owners were desperate to find a couple instead of young roommates. Four months in and we’re still loving out home — never knock the power of sheer good luck. :)

My luckiest moment was when I was looking for apartments for my husband and I– we were living with his mother btw. After searching to no avail every day all day for two months, I finally found a great apartment. Under budget, perfect location and just re-modeled last year! Whooh!!

JOSS ME! My luckiest house moment was when I had my realtor’s license and we wanted to sell our own house. I posted it on Craigslist and sold it for full price within hours of posting it to a family who was not represented by a realtor. So, I was able to save thousands of dollars by not having to pay a buyers agent fee.

Our new house in a new subdivision wasn’t selling because it was the smallest house in the neighborhood. The builder didn’t want to deeply discount the house so he finished the basement for us before we moved in! Hello family room and office! :)

I’m going to say when I had to jack up my house to replace the sill plate and had to replace all the studs in the wall around the bathroom and the vintage 50s tile stood there by itself open to the outside world – reframed and replaced everything and it’s still there no worse for it!

The entire “buying our first house” process was amazing: finding a perfect 50’s house before it was ever on the market, getting it for less than appraised value and being able to pour some serious sweat equity into it with the help of the $8K first time homebuyers credit! The list goes on …

My luckiest house purchase came from my favorite store, EVER!
Crate and Barrel outlet. I got a floor model 8 person, beautiful wood dining room table, with a few minor dings, that was originally $999 for $45! Yep, forty five dollars. I found it buried under some rugs and coffee tables. We had a huge dining room at the time that needed a giant table. It was such a score!!

My lucky house experience was when we were looking for a rental in a specific neighborhood. The realtor helped us find what we thought was the perfect house. Then we realized there was no personal outdoor space to store anything. And we had looked at everything in the area. So the realtor said, let’s look in this other area. So we did and found the perfect house (for us) on the first try! We happily moved in a few weeks later!

My husband was relocated and we only had a month or so to find a place to live. We looked at 40 houses in that month and nothing really felt right. When we lost all hope of finding a little charming house and decided to rent again an 85 year old cottage suddenly went on the market and we snagged that baby before the “for sale” sign went up. Pretty darn lucky.
