Ugh – I wish I could say we’ve had some happy, design or overall lucky moments with our house(s), but I think the only real luck we’ve had was luckily catching a small leak in the pressure tank in the boiler on the furnace in our last house. $300 repair, but if it had gone much longer, it would have cost us more like $4000!

Well, we were lucky in the sense that the previous owner of our home had painted it all of the colors that we love and would have chosen anyway, outside and inside! So we didn’t have to do much of any re-decorating once the house was ours.

Getting our house was lucky, we saw it the hour it went on the market, and we were one of 3 that put a bid in that day. Even though we put in the lowest bid, our amazing realtor wrote the best offer and the bank picked us! I think even luckier though, has been falling in love with our home as we have made it ours the last 2 years.

I was pretty lucky w/ my house. Viewed it on a Monday, had my loan approved on Friday, moved into the house in less than 30 days. AND it came with all the leftover paint from the previous owners nicely nested in one of the closets, so touch-ups such were a breeze.

JOSS ME! We found a couple of things at my grandparents’ summer house. It almost looks like a house you’d see on Hoarders.. filled with “junk” that you walk around. We went down one summer to sift through and found a lot of old unique pieces! Not junk but treasures! They’re really adding a lot of character to our country theme.

We looked at our current home two years before we bought it and decided it was too much money, although we loved it. Then the housing market took a tumble, as did the price of our dream home, so that two years later when we were ready to buy again, not only was it still for sale, but the price had dropped to where we could afford it!

My luckiest moment was when my hubby and I got our first rental together – one with a giant backyard (“giant” as in about 800 sq feet- bigger than our inside space, and quite big for the neighborhood!). Perfect size for our two Pomeranians, and I will never forget my first and very own vegetable garden, which was grown there!

We haven’t been super lucky with our 1938 Cape Cod–it needs a lot of work and we have a lot to learn, but we’re saving and working on it, and making it our own. I am VERY lucky to have my amazing husband and crazy-cute son living in it. “What I like best about my home is that my family lives here!”

My luckiest moment was randomly finding this website.(And no I’m not sucking up) It really was. I am about to move into a new apartment and I wanted some ideas on decorating so I googled and found your website. And now I’m obessed with it, I check everyday for updates and have implemented your ideas into some stuff for my new place (for example DIY headboard) I am a total DIYer, I did my own wedding like you guys, but we haven’t found a house to buy yet so until then I have to stick to the small things.

Our lucky house moment was when we went to look at our house for the first time. Turns out, 3 of the neighbors already knew my husband! People he hadn’t seen in 15+ years from college, who were all amazing. We put an offer on the house that same day, and now enjoy the most amazing neighborhood ever.
