My luckiest house find = finding a couch at a thrift store for $250. It was brand new – still had tags on it. AND I’d been looking at the exact same one just a few weeks earlier at a furniture store where they wanted $1,000 for it. Woot!

JOSS ME! No lucky home decor memories coming to me at the moment…maybe discovering that our entire house has hardwood flooring? Unfortunately it looks pretty rough in places, and we don’t have the budget to refinish it any time soon, but even that is better than the ugly builder-grade carpeting that was in every. single. room. when we moved in.

Joss Me! A lady I used to babysit for knew I was looking for a house but also knew I had very little $$. She noticed an ad for a 50’s brick rancher for a ridiculous price. Yes, it looked pretty rough at the time, but it’s come a long way since. It’s got some YHL touches to it of course!

My luckiest house moment came on a day the hubs and I had no luck thrifting…we had spent all day trolling our favorite stores and had nothing to show for it. Then as we rounded the corner into our neighborhood, I spotted a gorgeous 10 drawer dresser on the side of the road for FREE! SCORE! After a little white paint, it now sits in our sons’ playroom…the perfect addition to house all their toys!

My husband and I were going to have a dining room table built for us with no such luck to a rough hune table we were seeking. Right before we were going to give the go ahead, we scored a huge deal on a table that was 70% off at a furniture store and we came out like bandits! Our luckiest home improvement moment was going from loan approval to home owners in less than 60 days! We were the second offer on a foreclosed home that met ALL of our must-haves! We totally lucked out and were moved in two days before Christmas. Just in time to host a Christmas dinner for friends. :)

My luckiest home improvement moment involved finally finding the perfect space for a curio cabinet that we bought 7 years ago on our honeymoon. It’s been floating around our house – holding space as part of other projects for all that time.

I think our luckiest find was a year old lazyboy sofa bed on craigslist that had been listed for a week, and was STILL available! a grandma that had no pets & did not smoke was moving in with her daughter & granddaughter, and so didn’t need her sofa! It was so perfect timing!

My luckiest moment was re-facing my kitchen cabinets for $150! A few years ago, home depot decided to stop stocking a lot of their Mill’s Pride cabinets and made them special order. They clearanced the inventory at 90% off and I remodeled my entire kitchen for a steal! I was a happy girl.
