JOSS ME! We lucked out on our current house (of 7 weeks) by having the right realtor who just happened to have been approached by the former owners for a price analysis of their house. They were going to put their place on the market “by owner” for a little while and then list with her. We put an offer on the house before it ever hit the market, and based on current sales prices in town we feel like we made out pretty well.

    JOSS ME!!!!

I have the most amazing, charming, outgoing father in the world! The center of our family…he is the glue that holds our family together! Around the time that my fiance and I were looking for a our first home, my dad became sick and needed a kidney transplant. More than anything, I needed him to get better. While waiting to hear if we were kidney matches from the hospital…my fiance and I went for a drive in a subdivision to look for homes for sale. We fell in LOVE with a house that had just gone on the market. Without a doubt, we knew that this home was the right one for us. That evening, we called the realtor and within days, the seller accepted our offer! The beauty of this story…that same week…I was told I was a perfect match for my dad! We just celebrated the two year anniversary of our home and successful kidney transplant!

JOSS ME! I had great luck this spring, when some roofers who were just finishing a job at the top of the street agreed to repair a few shingles on our house for $60. I know it would have cost a fortune to call a roofing company to do the repair, and these guys did an awesome job in about 25 minutes.

Our luckiest home moment was when we moved in and met our new neighbors. They have been so helpful to us… they plow our driveway in the winter for free (we live in CT and this past winter was brutal!), they installed our storm door for us and help us with generally anything we need since we’re still new at this home ownership thing and figuring it out as we go. We’re SO lucky to have them!

I think my luckiest home improvement moment was the fact that my grandparents sold their vacation home just as I was moving into my first apartment. Meaning I basically didn’t have to spend a cent to decorate and furnish my place, as they were looking for someone to take their sudden surplus of furniture! I guess I’m also lucky that my grandparent’s have good taste AND an affinity for antiques. ;)
