*My lucky decorating story. I’m expecting a baby boy in Oct and was browsing on etsy when I saw a picture of the exact bedding we’re using paired with wall decals that matched perfectly! I ordered those suckers right away!!

My luckiest home improvement was doing our master bath redo for next to nothing (by ourselves). Almost 3 years later- I still LOVE IT! normally I get bored with a paint color, decor, etc, but I even still like the shower curtain.

Luckiest moment? Finding our dream house when we were not actively looking after a friend of us convinced us to go and check out a great house for sale in his neighborhood, and getting it for a great price right at the bottom of the housing crisis!

We just got lucky building a large picture frame for above the couch. We were calculating how pricey it was going to be, so decided to cup up and old coffee table and make it ourselves for only a couple $’s in supplies. And it turned out great (that’s the lucky part!).

My luckiest home moment is when I snagged an antique drop leaf table and chairs (my friend swears its real Duncan Phyffe, but maybe it is really a repro from the 50’s?) for $125 on craigslist.

Easiest question of my life – literally. Luckiest house ever was the one my once boyfriend bought just before we started dating. We spent the next year renovating it to then sell it several months after our honeymoon. We just recently named our daughter after the street it was on, Emerson.

My luckiest furniture find happened the day before we moved from San Diego to San Francisco, I got 2 great midcentury modern dressers for a song! The only down side was we hadn’t factored them in to the moving truck size so it was a TIGHT squeeze!

My luckiest moment in home ownership was finding the house of my dreams at a price way below market value. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the couple was getting a divorce and they just wanted to unload it–after just having completed an expensive expansion and rennovation. If my house were on the market today, I couldn’t afford to buy it! I still can’t believe my good fortune!

Joss me! Our luckiest moment was when we bought our house in early spring 1200 miles away (we were only there for four days and ended up being the first house we looked at but toured over 50 homes) and when we finally made the big move and closed on it 2 months later three was a cherry, apple, and peach tree in full bloom.

Our luckiest moment of home ownership was finding our home- we were renting a house & were starting to look at homes to buy, my husband told the AC repair guy we were looking to buy – the AC guy tattled to our landlord on us & next thing we know she was calling to tell us about a mini-farm with an amazing, partially renovated (but still needed more cosmetic work – perfect!) 70 year old farm house. It was exactly what we wanted – she hadn’t even put it up for sale yet & we saw it & closed & moved in less than 3 weeks later. That was 2 years ago next month. Also – our land has a detached garage & a barn – we’ve found so many treasures, like antique farm equipment, iron trellises, old pictures, mirrors and more in nooks & crannies. We’re in total home ownership L.O.V.E! Hoping to spruce up our upstairs that we’re remodeling with some Joss awesomeness!

My luckiest home improvement moment….let’s see. I had been wanting an armoire/hutch for a while so I looked around on craigslist. I knew God would help me find it! I spent a couple of days searching and one day, I found a hutch in good condition but ugly paint colors for only $25! My husband and I checked it out and we brought it home! We then sanded it, primed it, painted it a shiny semi-gloss black, and now it’s in our dining room displaying our china and fun dishes I find in thrift stores!

We did find a house we loved the first day it was on the market. There were no photos, so they had no bites. I scheduled a viewing for the next day. Pictures went up in the morning, I saw the house in the afternoon, and by the that night we had sent in an offer, negotiated the offer, and had an accepted offer! We moved in 3 weeks later. Pretty awesome. We moved from a small apt in Chicago, so now we need furniture :)

My luckiest moment is my house itself. It was a HUD home that I bid on and lost. The first offer fell through and it was back on the market a few months later; I bid the same amount and got it. And I know it’s a little thing, but it had the perfect sized doggie door already for my best pal, Krypto.

We scored after moving into a rental with plenty of charm but a lot of cleaning to do, when we uncovered an over-lacquered table in the basement. It’s now a lovely shade of green after some sanding, painting and sealing. A dining table for less than $30 worth of painting supplies!
