I feel so lucky/blessed to have an artist for a grandfather and mother. I don’t have to look long in their stashes to find some really nice and original art for any spot in my house!

Our lucky moment? Literally the first house we ever looked at ended up being the one we bought. We weren’t 100% sure about it when we saw it and proceeded to look at approximately 53054 other houses (okay, that might be a slight exaggeration) before deciding that our first was true love… and luckily enough, it was still available!

Haven’t had many insanely lucky moments yet, but we are moving to a fabulous apartment that is directly across the street from my new school (it’s only quadruple what we’re paying now in a much cheaper locale, eek!)

This would help us put the finishing touches on several rooms in our house! Our luckiest moment: when we were finally able to convert our spare (junk) bedroom into a playroom thanks to some great hand-me-down furniture! It’s now my whole family’s favorite room!

Our luckiest moment was when our neighbors gave us two bookcases that were the PERFECT size we were looking for and couldn’t find anywhere. They were free and all we had to do was repaint them. Score!

My luckiest moment was finding my house in time for the tax credit. The owner originally declined the showing, and I was only in Texas for one more day before I flew back to the east coast house-less. We did a drive-by anyway, and my realtor convinced the owner to give us a evening showing. I signed the offer the next morning on my way to the airport, and I didn’t see the house again until I owned it – and I still love it!

Joss me!! Our lucky house juju happened when we stumbled across our current home. This is actually our second home, but this was the first one I looked at in this city (Austin). And we instantly fell in love. It just felt like us.

And now after nearly six years, we are starting to decorate it the way we want, so this will be perfect! Thanks!

Honestly, I haven’t been too lucky, at least not lately. All of my bathrooms are falling apart (one is leaking, another is completely broken and the third one is on its last leg); haven’t been able to turn on the a/c in a couple of years because every time it’s on, one of the rooms ends up flooding (we’ve got a lovely stain on the hardwood floor and a couple of walls because of it); I have to manually get rid of the water in the washer because the spin cycle doesn’t work; and just today my garage door broke so I can no longer open it. But I’m planning on either moving to a better place or slowly fixing everything up, so hopefully I’ll start feeling lucky soon enough! (The thought alone makes me feel a little lucky. Does that count? Ha.)

Loving the ideas from this blog. Getting me thinking about all the improvements we could do to our great little house…we took my step mother to look at it when we first saw it and turns out she taught the owners in Med school…perfect Joss moment. Home purchase went off without a hitch. My husband even plays tennis with the previous owner now!
