Yes, this freebie is about cleaning, but the “nice” part of my post title risks being a major understatement. For instance, would you call this incredible Australian house that we virtually crashed back in February just “nice?”
Of course not. It’s amazing. Which is why we’re excited that those very homeowners are also the geniuses behind the luxurious and superbly eco-friendly cleaning line called Murchison-Hume. Even more excitingly, they’re sending over $250 worth of luxe home-cleaning products to one lucky reader’s casa (feel free to drool, since you’ll soon have something to clean it up with).
So why do we love Murchison-Hume? Let’s start with the design: vintage apothecary-style bottles that make any countertop photo-shoot ready. Then there’s the eco part. All products are premium organic and are based in the same technology that cleans up oil spills, meaning they’re completely non-toxic. Oh, and of course there’s the fact that they actually work – and smell great (mmm, Australian White Grapefruit). And yes this line (which you can find stateside in Anthropologie and in upscale shelter mags like Elle Decor) is pricier than your average cleaner, but you certainly get what you pay for. I used to clean my bedroom when everyone was sleeping when I was a kid… now I’m lucky if I can keep parts of my condo clean – particularly during our fun bed-building and redecorating efforts – lots to DIY… and try to keep clean.

Keep it clean! The Murchison Hume shelves always seem to be clean of stock. We sell the product in Australia and it goes so fast the shelves are always clear and clean as we struggle to keep up! Great products. I use them at home and in our stores.

I’m a little ocd about my clothing for some reason. Not the closet – that’s a mess. But I hate when drawers won’t close and there isn’t enough room on the pole to hang things up. So I’m constantly going through, putting clothing in the “trade-out/give-away” pile. Wish I could do that with the REST of my house! :)

Hahahaha I laugh because I know my husband would laugh…he gets so mad when he hears me say “cleaning day!” His idea of cleaning is stuffing things in plain view, out of view. i.e. shoving things in drawers. He learned within our first year of marraige that my “clean” means to pull EVERYTHING out of the drawers, and clean the drawers first! THEN you clean each item and place it neatly back in the drawer. Obsesive, hands down!
